A heartfelt thank you to Emerging Minds Montessori Academy in Delray Beach for inviting me to your Fall Festival! It was such a joy to share Mila the Mollusk with your little readers and to explore creativity together through art.
Montessori education emphasizes hands-on learning, independence, and exploration, and your festival was the perfect reflection of those values. Seeing children engage with Mila the Mollusk, create their own art inspired by her underwater adventures, and immerse themselves in imaginative play reminded me why I love being a children’s book author and illustrator.
Events like this show the magic that happens when storytelling and Montessori principles come together. Children were able to explore, create, and express themselves while learning about confidence, kindness, and courage through Mila’s story. These interactive experiences encourage curiosity, self-expression, and social-emotional growth—all core to Montessori philosophy.
